These 4 Portuguese Majolica plates show flowers and fruits (grapes and cherries) amongst green leaves on a deep blue background. The colours are rich and the glaze glossy. Each has the "two fishes" embossed mark and a stamp RF in black to the under side. One plate shows an old repair: staples have been inserted to the rear. This repair does not significantly alter the appearance of the plate. Made in Portugal c. 1880-1910. Diameter = 237 mm |
